This set of 3 totems is handcarved in buffalo bone and wood
and comes from the island of Sumba in Indonesia.
This type of statue is called a Tun Tun
and has since ancient times been considered a powerful talisman. Farmers would bring it to the fields, guiding them to get a good crop. It was also used to protect one’s house, placed in the corners of the roof.

It comes complete with blackened metal stands and the story printed out for you inside a beautiful envelope. Being handmade each set is just slightly different.
