Siwa Statue from Java
A SYMBOL OF COMPLETION
This beautiful statue was hand carved in stone by local artisans on the island of Java in Indonesia, made as per ancient techniques.
Siwa is a Balinese god representing divinity and for the Balinese the totality of all forces called God.
Siwa is the source of all life and the powers in nature. In him are the two sexes in one, being the ultimate symbol of completion.
As male Siwa is the mountain, the father of all humanity, he’s all phallic symbols, the sun, space, the supreme teacher and the maker of the world.
As female Siwa is mother of all nature, goddess of the mountains, and the female deities of rivers and lakes.
His male and female sides are forever united for the eternal reproduction of the universe.
The statue comes complete with a black metal stand and its story printed out for you inside a beautiful envelope.
Being handmade each piece is slightly different.
