Crafted from coconut shell and finished with solid brass details, every Kalabubu is made by skilled artisans on Nias Island using traditional techniques that have been preserved for generations. Each individual element is carefully cut, shaped, polished and assembled by hand—a time-intensive process that few artisans still practice today.

Every Kalabubu is unique. The natural variations in the coconut shell give each piece its own character, while the blackened metal display stand is individually made by hand and may show subtle signs of its artisanal craftsmanship. Over time, the metal can naturally develop a rich patina.
