This beautiful set was handcrafted on the island of Borneo in Indonesia, made with a an alloy called bell metal consisting of bronze and tin. The tradition to create bells with this special material in a process called bellfounding dates back to antiquity.

In Buddhism bells have many important meanings and are often used as a call to worship. Many prayers begin with the gentle sound of the bell, representing the voice of Buddha and serving as an invitation to focus on mindfulness. The ringing can also be a callout for protection and a way to ward off evil spirits. The bell symbolizes wisdom and compassion, believed to be the path to Enlightenment.

 The set come complete with blackened metal stands and their intriguing story printed out for you inside a beautiful envelope. Being handmade each piece is slightly different with natural imperfections.

Dimensions: Each bell is 8 x 10cm and the heights are 26 and 33cm with the metal supports.
