This striking set of wooden totems was carved by hand on the island of Sumba in Indonesia, made with human forms in honour to the Marapu (ancestral spirits). Since ancient times statues like these were placed inside ones house.

Marapu is an ancestral religion practiced in Sumba, believed to be the occupants of the eternal heaven, living in couples and leading a similar existence to men.
The set comes complete with the black metal stands and its story printed out for you inside a beautiful envelope. Being artisan crafted, every piece is an original, showcasing the natural beauty of the wood with organic imperfections and cracks.
