This vintage bronze sculpture represents Ganesha, the beloved Hindu deity known for clearing obstacles and opening the way to new beginnings. With his elephant head and calm presence, Ganesha has long symbolized intelligence, protection, and good fortune.

In Java, images of Ganesha have appeared for centuries in temples and sacred spaces. People turn to him when starting something important — a journey, a new project, or a meaningful step in life.

The sculpture shows Ganesha seated in a balanced, composed posture, framed by a radiant halo. His multiple arms hold symbolic objects connected to knowledge, prosperity, and protection. The overall presence of the figure carries both strength and serenity.

Javanese artisans created pieces like this using the traditional lost-wax casting technique. The sculpture is first modeled in wax, then encased in clay before molten bronze is poured into the mold. This method allows artisans to capture fine details while keeping the spirit of handmade work.

The sculpture is mounted on a blackened metal support and comes with its printed story enclosed in an elegant envelope.

As a natural characteristic of bronze, the patina may continue to evolve subtly over time, developing gentle variations in tone that are part of the material’s authentic ageing process.
