A SUCCESSFUL LIFE
This striking suite includes a set of 2 peacock feathers, and a set of 2 Kalabubu necklaces, complete with the blackened metal supports.
The feathers come from the island of Java and are considered powerful and mythical symbols in many different cultures of the world. The peacock feather is said to absorb negative energies, protect the wearer from any bad happenings and bringing good luck. The peacock is also believed to be the manifestation of the celestial phoenix bird, and its feathers are often recommended in Feng Shui as a love cure.
The Kalabubu necklaces were handmade in brass with a delicate coconut veneer. Necklaces like these were worn by warrior men called head-hunters in the island of Nias, off the Western coast of Sumatra in Indonesia. As a symbol of high prestige, the warriors were only allowed to wear this necklace once they had killed an enemy and brought his head back to the village. By carrying the enemies head back to the village the warrior brought protective forces to his community.
The suite comes with the stories of the artefacts printed out for you inside a beautiful envelope. Being artisan crafted with organic materials, each piece is slightly different containing beautiful, natural imperfections. Books not included.
