This special set includes a set of 2 stone statues depicting little boys and a feather and shell bracelet, complete with the blackened metal stands.

The stone statues are hand-carved in stone and come from Timor in Indonesia, where many believe in animist religions. The human face is an invitation to their ancestral spirits to go inside the statue to protect and guide the owner and the home.

The bracelet was made by local artisans in Papua, with cowrie shells, rooster feathers and beads. In Papua, shells represent prosperity and are often used during wedding ceremonies, believed to bring emotional and financial wealth. Here shells have been worn by local tribes since ancient times, to enhance the body as well as showing status and achievements. With their strong mythological importance shells were considered to be the links between the human and the spiritual world, bringing fertility and well-being. In several myths across Southeast Asia, the rooster is said to have the power to revive the dead, or to make a wish come true. It's considered sacred within the spiritual realm. 

The suite comes complete on the black metal stands and the stories printed out for you inside a beautiful envelope. Being artisan crafted, every piece is an original and slightly different, showcasing the natural beauty of the materials with organic imperfections.  The handmade metal supports carry their own authenticity, with subtle imperfections, irregularities and the potential for a natural patina to emerge over time.
