Vintage Thai Bronze Crowned Deity Bust

Sale price€473,36 EUR

A SYMBOL OF DIVINE PRESENCE

Made in Thailand in the late 1900s, this bronze bust represents a crowned divine figure inspired by the sacred traditions of Thai temple art.

Figures like this appear throughout Thai religious culture, where divine beings and celestial guardians are often shown wearing elaborate crowns and jewelry that symbolize spiritual authority and elevated status. Their calm expression reflects balance, wisdom, and inner strength. Thai art has long been shaped by both Hindu and Buddhist traditions.

Artisans created sculptures like this using the traditional lost-wax casting technique. The figure was first modeled in wax, then covered in clay before molten bronze was poured into the mold. This method allows craftsmen to capture intricate details while preserving the character of handmade work.

The sculpture is mounted on a thick black metal support and comes with its printed story enclosed in a refined envelope.

As a natural characteristic of bronze, the patina may continue to evolve subtly over time, developing gentle variations in tone that are part of the material’s authentic ageing process.
