This striking suite includes a bold Buddha stone statue and a set of 2 wooden combs, complete with the blackened metal supports.

The beautiful Buddha head was hand carved in stone by local artisans on the island of Java in Indonesia, made as per ancient techniques. Buddha, founder of the Buddhist religion is known as the teacher of the gods and the humans, having reached the greatest bliss, Nirvana. Buddha is also described as the bestower of immortality. His head is the symbol of his greatness, filled with mysticism, the embodiment of wisdom and compassion.

The combs were handcrafted in wood by master artisans in Lampung, located at the southern tip of Sumatra in Indonesia. Known for its vibrant traditions, Lampung is celebrated for its exquisite wood carvings, where each piece tells a story of the regions traditions and beliefs.
Here, combs are not just beautiful accessories to wear, but have a deep symbolic significance. Since antiquity these elaborate creations have been worn by women during ceremonies especially during weddings and important cultural events as symbols of beauty, grace, and social status. They are also believed to have protective powers, warding off negative energies and bringing good fortune.

The suite comes complete on their black metal stands and their stories printed out for you inside a beautiful envelope. Being artisan crafted, every piece is an original and slightly different, showcasing the natural beauty of the materials with organic imperfections. The handmade metal supports carry their own authenticity, with subtle imperfections and the potential for a natural patina to emerge over time.
