A SYMBOL OF POWER

This set of nose decoration/Septum tusk is carved out of clamshell, deriving from Papua New Guinea. Being hand made from natural materials each septum tusk is slightly different with natural imperfections.

Since ancient times septum tusks have been worn by different tribes in Papua during important ceremonies, intended to give the wearer power and the appearance of a wild boar. The most notorious tribe known to wear the Septum tusks are the Asmat, the most famous cannibalistic tribe on Papua. The Asmat were also warriors and headhunters who did not only hunt for skulls but also worshipped them, putting them in honourable places in their homes.

A great gift for yourself or someone who has obtained or needs power! The piece comes complete with the black metal stand and its story printed out for you inside a beautiful envelope.

Dimensions: 16 x 15 x 4cm with the metal support
