A SYMBOL OF INNOCENCE AND INNER PEACE

This antique bronze sculpture represents a child Buddha resting peacefully with the head supported by the hands. The relaxed posture expresses calm, reflection, and the natural serenity associated with early Buddhist teachings.

In Southeast Asian tradition, images of the young Buddha often symbolize purity of mind and the quiet wisdom present before life becomes complicated. The gentle expression and relaxed form invite a moment of pause and contemplation.

Sculptures like this were created by Javanese artisans using the traditional lost-wax casting technique. The form was first modeled in wax, then encased in clay before molten bronze was poured into the mold. This method allows the sculptor to capture subtle shapes while preserving the character of handmade work.

The sculpture is mounted on a blackened metal support and comes with its printed story enclosed in an elegant envelope.
