BRAVE ACHIEVEMENTS
This gorgeous ensemble includes a set of 2 tribal armour and a set of 3 bamboo arrows, complete with the blackened metal supports.
The armour are handmade out of water buffalo bone discs embroidered on top of natural fibre crochet wests. It comes from Toraja on the beautiful island Sulawesi in Indonesia. In ancient times wests like this were worn by warriors during battles as a status symbol. Today they are used in traditional ceremonial dances.
The arrows were made with as per ancient techniques on the island of Papua, crafted in bamboo with wooden tops. The bamboo and wood were chosen for their light weight allowing them to fly through the air, for their resilience and their strength. Arrows like these have been used for hunting and battles by local tribes since antiquity.
The suite comes with the stories of the artefacts printed out for you inside a beautiful envelope. Being artisan crafted with organic materials, each piece is slightly different containing beautiful, natural imperfections.
